Oakland: The Police - Which Side Are They On?

From New York to Oakland, police are the main tool of the 1% to attack the Occupy movement.

Before the Occupy movement, police have engaged in brutal acts of racism, corruption, and brutality in cities all across the country. Additionally, police have been used throughout history to crackdown on movements for social justice.

What is the role of police in capitalist society? Who do they serve? How can we organize in the face of police and state violence?

Join us for a meeting and discussion about the history of police in the U.S. and how we can build an alternative world.
