SF: Boycott, Divest, Sanction! End the Israeli Apartheid State

Over the last few years the state of Israel has given the world a number of tragic reminders of the need to defend Palestinian liberation. In particular, following the democratic election of Hamas to the Palestinian Parliament in 2006, the State of Israel unleashed a brutal military assault on the already poverty stricken Gaza Stripe followed by a permanent embargo.

The remaining 1.5 million residents of the Gaza Strip now live in what many refer to as an open air prison - surrounded on all sides by Israeli border walls and armed soldiers, unable to leave and choked by the embargo on aid and basic imports.

In an attempt to end such a violation of basic human rights many activists across the world have taken up the Palestinian call for a Boycott, Divestment and Sanction(BDS) campaign against Israel. Since the tragic massacre on the Mavi Marmara aid flotilla last summer this BDS movement has only grown in urgency and momentum, even in the United States.

Come join a discussion on the state of the BDS campaign in the U.S. and learn how you can get involved.
